COSTUME DESIGNER/MAKER + WIG STYLIST

Erin Routh Smith is a versatile costume designer and maker with over a decade of professional experience spanning theatre, film, live events, and immersive storytelling. She is known for her collaborative approach, technical precision, and imaginative world-building across a wide range of creative environments and mediums.

Erin currently leads the costume department at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan, where she oversees productions, mentors emerging designers, and supports the development of new work. She previously served as Lead Costumer at Swaybox Studios, as well as Costume Shop Manager at Royal Design House in New Orleans, LA. Her design and fabrication work also extends into immersive and experiential projects, including collaborations with Adam Aleksander Presents and augmented-reality installations created by Cortina Productions, among many others.

She holds an MFA in Costume Design from Tulane University and brings a dynamic, interdisciplinary perspective to every project. Erin’s work has appeared on stages and screens across the country, including productions at La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club, The Metropolitan Opera, Playbill.com, The Harlem Shakespeare Festival, The New Orleans Shakespeare Festival, and SOHO House New York.
